Bathroom wood
Wood base are generated from dried natural wood like oak and teak and with varnish coat provide longevity, durability and moisture locking
Bathroom wood finish can give a rusty look and can be made with left out wood in your home. Usually teak wood is most preferred since they can lock the moisture with the help of resin coat. You can even use wooden bath board to drain off water easily as well to match the bathroom wood. Bath board will solve the difficulty of getting in and out of tub.
Other woods which are used include red Oak which will give traditional look ,hand grated hickory, bamboo which is cheap and green and maple which is elegant .Even ash, merbau, elm, walnut, jatoba, cherry with refinish oils like lacquer are used.
Though now a day laminate wooding is used for bathrooms which is a combination of wood in the bottom with melamine resins in the top, solid hardwood in bathroom keeps your leg cozy and engineered wood makes the best choice, which have infix of 1/16 - 1/8 inches of real wood on upper part with plywood underneath in crisscross to top giving added strength to floor .All these require professional installers since it is compulsory to lock moisture as hardwood get damaged due to it. Pre-finished solid hardwood is obtained, so no tension of sanding or sealing.
The unique feature of engineered wood is that it can be sanded 1-3 times if scratches or impressions occur, though professional sanding is recommended.
For windows made of wood in bathroom tung oil(Chinese oil) with white spirit in equal ratio is best should be applied one coating per day ,per week and per month which will fill the pores making it water resistant and also can be maintained well since it needs only a wipe with a bit oil. You can also pre varnish with tung oil which help to wipe the patches of toothpaste.
Precautions should be taken not to flood the bathroom floor too much to take care of the wood. Engineered wood can be nailed or stick to the ground.
Kitchen hardwood

Hardwood is used now a day in kitchen flooring for the look and feel and also it is cheaper. Most of the old floorings of kitchen will be made of panama pine which will have an oily look. Now a days red oak, maple etc are common. Being eco-friendly you can even choose bamboo which is green and concrete .But the wood may undergo warping if water gets clogged in the kitchen floor. But oak spreads out well even after damage and you need not replace the kitchen wood.

According to user review engineered wood may have thin layer of wood on top making it easy for water damage. But with proper amount of wooding in the top, engineered hardwood is resistant to expansion and humidity and looks awesome, though good quality wood will cost more. Oak and maple will cost from 6.5 -7 per sq. feet and 1.5-2 sq feet for implementation charges, while bamboo is quite cheaper.

A combination of oak with cork in the core is the current trend .However making the floor of kitchen hardwood is useful in cleaning, persists well as any impression caused can be easily coated. Maintenance of wood is quite cheaper comparing to others and wood is comfortable to feet by providing warmth.

With tiles, if you drop something it will become a mess, but wood can withstand any party stains, spills and marks made by dogs etc. The water damage to the wood also may be caused only if the hardwood is submerged into water for about 2 days and more, otherwise hardwood like pine is the best flooring for kitchen and pre- finished one can withstand even more The hard closely- netted wood of the maple are used for furniture and flooring which will give good look and feel. Pine which gives a glossy look need to be coated often .It may require a combination of neutral stain of one coat with 2 Minwax which is polyurethane mainly and a coat of fabric touch.

Kitchen hardwood is available in any sizes and accents like red accent, brown accent etc and can match well with your furniture.
Kitchen wood flooring

Flooring forms the basis of any room and has great significance in the appearance of it. Apt flooring can modify a small room to a bigger one, can make a loud room a placid one, or make a clumsy room a cleaner one.

There are many factors to be taken care of when going for kitchen flooring. Durability, convenience provided by the flooring, and moisture control are the major ones. From laminate, ceramic tile, hardwood, resilient etc, you can select the best fit for your kitchen.

Kitchen wood flooring provides your house with an eternal look and gives the ambience and ardent feel.

The three major choices of Kitchen wood flooring include
1) Solid hardwood
2) Laminate wood
3) Engineered wood flooring.

Solid hardwood flooring uses solid wood for flooring, and not any other additional material. It is also simply called the "hardwood floor." The most important benefit of hardwood flooring is that it can be re-sanded any number of times, assuring long life. However, it cannot be installed in moist areas such as basements or bathrooms.

Engineered wood flooring is a stimulating substitute for solid hardwood flooring. It comprises inserts of plywood and finish wood. Finish wood is the upper layer over which you walk. The plywood lies beneath the finish wood, and comprises 80-90% of the base.

The major benefits of engineered wood flooring are that it is well suited for areas of moisture, and the range it provides for installation. However, its biggest disadvantage is the top layer, which is liable for sanding only one or two times.

Unlike hardwood and engineered wood, laminate flooring does not use real wood, and it is an awesome model of wood. It has a slim top layer of paper infused with resin, above a wood-chip complex. The layer of resin is a mere snap of wood. Laminate flooring is however resistant to scratch and is best applied in moist surroundings such as bathrooms, kitchens and so on. It can also be installed with much ease. Nevertheless, the slipperiness, which restricts it from sanding, and hardness are the major drawbacks of this flooring.

Kitchen islands wood
Kitchen islands make the heart of kitchen and with its shelves provide good storage, serving table or a decorative piece.
It comes with attractive shapes, style, size, countertop, base finish and brand and are immovable or with rollers by which they can be moved. They can be enclosed storage and also with addition of seats

Natural wood like red oak are used as kitchen islands wood which shall be crafted well on the top. A separate wood slab that is obtained from mesquite, walnut, pecan, maple etc can be used for the top. We can test the durability and ability to saw of the kitchen islands wood by the help of side hardness method which measures the thrust required to implant 444 inch steel roll to one-half of its diameter inside wood. The top of kitchen islands wood include 3 types like Face grain, End grain and Edge grain and is constructed according to the width of the board. Face grain with wider boards are of continuous and jointed strip types.

Edge grain is cut from wider boards and then borders are joined together. Along the length of the wood vertical grid lines are visible Edge grain provides stability as well as hardness for kitchen island top. It is also less in price than End grain.

Edge grain will come as ‘random joint’ where strips are arranged in a random manner with abut joints having a parquet effect depending on top’s length and wood type, may use continuous strip for front border,’ continuous strip joint’ run with a neat look with no joints of butt depending on the top size plus type of wood and ‘strips with jointed patterns’ arranged with proper abut joints, depending on top’s length and wood type with front border strip being continuous.

End grain forms a symmetrical pattern of growth rings (end of wood) on the top which is strongest because it has capacity to self heal and used mainly for chopping .The width of the end grain should be 2 inches thick
